Our Doctors

Dr. Toni Sugg 
Dr. Sugg began working at Piedmont Veterinary Clinic in 1988. She received a Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology and then a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Prior to working at Piedmont Veterinary Clinic, she was a Medical Technologist for 8 years at the University of North Carolina and in the Army Reserves Hospital Unit for 14 years with a final rank of Major. Her special interest as a veterinarian is performing surgery. When not working, she spends time with her cat Pippen, and enjoys participating in any water activities, including boating and kayaking at the beach, the lake or river. She also plays on a Senior Softball National Team that travels to tournaments along the east coast and as far as Texas.

Dr. Elizabeth Heinze
Dr. Heinze began working at Piedmont Veterinary Clinic in 1999. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and then a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has special interests in animal behavior and dermatology. In her spare time, she enjoys running on trails and hiking with her family and dog along the Eno River. She had a new baby, and now shares her home with 3 wonderful sons, and her husband, as well as their greyhound, Buffy, and three cats, Hannah, Yin, & Yang.

Dr. Tara Kipp
Dr. Kipp works at both our Mebane Pet Clinic location and here at Piedmont Veterinary Clinic. She began working with us in July 2007. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests include nutrition and increasing owner awareness of the quality of pet foods available. For fun, she enjoys playing with her three greyhounds, riding and training her horse, drawing, playing the piano, gardening, taking care of her many fish, photography and sitting on her back porch watching the wild birds with her husband.
